Professional Stun Gun Models
Professional tasers, the kind used by law enforcement, have interesting safety mechanisms built in. One particular model has a shooter ID system that launches confetti when the gun is shot.
This confetti identifies which officer shot the gun. Even more sophisticated models have computers built in that record the information about when the gun was shot.
Considerations Before Purchasing a Taser
If you think you might want a taser or mini taser for your self defense needs, find out if they are legal in your state. Most states have laws regulating the use of tasers, and you need to be informed before you make a purchase. The Internet is a great place to go to purchase your taser. Gun and self defense stores in your area are another option for purchasing your stun gun.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Taser Guns
The main advantage of a taser gun is the fact that it is a non-lethal weapon. This makes the average person feel more comfortable carrying or owning a taser than other types of self defense weapons. Another advantage of the newer stun gun models is that the electrodes shoot up to twenty feet, giving the shooter more of a range to shoot their attacker or criminal. The maid disadvantage is that tasers only give you one shot. If you miss, you are sunk!
Controversy
There is some controversy surrounding the use and legalization of taser guns. Civil liberty groups want them banned because they are used in many countries as a form of torture. The fear is if they are legalized and become the norm, incidents of torture will increase. It is difficult to detect torture done through tasers, making it popular with those who do not want their torture techniques known.
Some claim that a stun gun, taser or otherwise, can cause death through electrocution or heart attack. This does not appear to be true. The taser gun's effect is not pleasant, but it is not deadly. This is a safe way to protect yourself and your family!
