Why are Air Rifles so Popular?

Air rifles are easy to use, relatively cheap and the air soft game is popular in Asian countries where most of the guns are manufactured. Paintball leaves a mark on impact with a target (paint) and airsoft does not. With airsoft you can tell if something or someone has been hit because the ball will bounce off the target.
When a target is hit in airsoft, you can hear it. This is not the case with paintball. There are now electric airsoft rifles that are virtually soundless however.
Clear air soft rifles and airsoft games are used with an honor system by gamers. This means that players will themselves notify fellow players if they have been hit.
Paint stains from taking a hit in a paintball game can be wiped off. As there are no stains with airsoft, the honor system has to be used.

Types of Air Soft Rifles

The three types of air soft rifles and pistols are:

Spring-Powered Guns

These guns are the most widely used airsoft rifles for sale. They have to be cocked manually and will fire propelled by the action of a spring. These are the cheapest type of airsoft guns, are built in a way that is very easy to use and have a minimum amount of internal parts. They are often used in games, as the way they have to be fired simulates the bolt action on a rifle.

Gas-Powered Guns

This type of airsoft gun operates by collecting high-pressure gas in a chamber, after which the gas is released to propel the pellet. Some of these guns come with a blowback effect also caused by this gas. The most comon for of blowback airsoft gun is a pistol.

Electric Airsoft Guns

Electric air soft rifles often used just like spring powered soft air rifles. They run however on an electrical motor to enable the gun to fire automatically at rates similar to real automatic weapons. These guns run on rechargeable battery packs. Some players get lots of accessories to upgrade their electric guns, so that they can enter a higher level of competition play.
